The Langhe region consists of the Alta Langa (higher hills in the south) and the Bassa Langa (lower hills and river plains in the north). We are located in the Alta Langa with hills up to 900 m and beautiful villages like Bossolasco, Murazzano, Monesiglio and Cortemilia, all within 20 minutes reach. The Bassa Langa is known for its wine with the famous villages of Barolo, Barbaresco, Grinzane Cavour, Neive, and cities like Dogliani and Alba, all 20 to 40 minutes by car. Besides wine, Le Langhe is well known for truffles (tartufo bianco or white truffle), hazel nuts (this is the region where Michele Ferrero invented Nutella) and cheeses (Robiola, made from sheep, goat and cow milk). Quite unique in this region are the Big Benches, large benches distributed all over the area which serve as viewing points and great goals for a day hike. A great way to explore a larger area is to rent electrical bikes (in Murazzano) or Vespa scooters (in Grinzane Cavour). Mountain bikers will be thrilled to know that the GTL (Grande Traversata delle Langhe) tour crosses the whole Langhe region with 240 km of tracks. Hikers, on the other hand, can walk the Strada Romantica (100+ km) in different stages and stopping at 11 panoramic points.
